French 1, Your FIRST exam!!

If you are reading this, then you are helping yourself. Go ahead, give yourself a pat on the back!! Since we ran out of time in class, we didn't finish going over the answers to the last few sections of the review sheet. Those are some of the toughest sections, too. As I promised, here are the answers to those sections. Check yourself, then ask me if you have questions when you come in tomorrow.

Grammar Section 3 (with avoir)

1. Non, je n'ai pas de cahier.

2. Non, il n'y a pas de télé.

3. Oui, nous avons des livres.

4. Oui, il a seize ans.

The thing to remember with this section is that after pas, you must use de or d'. Also, study those forms of avoir. Make sure you know how to say "I have" "You have" "We have" etc.

Grammar Section 4 (Commands)

1. Faites Attention, Jean.

2. Ecoutez

3. Faites Attention / Silence!

4. Fermez vos livres.

5. Asseyez-vous!

6. Allez au tableau, Marc.

(This section is similar to the writing section on the exam. All you will have to do is list 5 commands.) Go to your notes, and study that list of commands that we learned. Memorize the spelling of at least 5!!

The last section on your review is culture. I am not going to put the answers on here, because I want you to take the effort to do it yourself. The pages in the book are p. 12, p. 15, p. 16, p. 17. Read over those paragraphs and be ready to answer true / false questions.

Ok, that about does it for the review sheet. Make sure you study your vocabulary, and really pay attention to whether or not nouns are masculine or feminine. OH, and one other thing. For 3 points of extra credit, answer the question Ca va? at the bottom right hand corner of the back of your test sheet.

Bonne Chance à tous!

Français 2, ton premier examen est DEMAIN!!

Les élèves,
I hope that you have taken some time to study for the Chapter 1 Exam.

The following are topics that will be covered: vocabulary (i.e. activities, adjectives, family members), culture, making adjectives agree, writing family relationships (i.e. reading a family tree), conjugationg être, avoir, reg. -er, -ir and -re verbs.

The following types of sections will be on the test: fill-in the blank with adjectives, fill-in the blank with family members, listening and matching, reading and answering questions, writing sentences, writing verbs in the correct form, and writing a paragraph about yourself.

I handed out a copy of the practice test, to help you to prepare for the exam. Here are the answers:

2. grands
3. longs

F. This represents the writing section on the exam. Be able to tell your age, describe yourself, as well as your likes / dislikes.

Remember, to give your age you say "I have ... years."

Hopefully, this offers some help. Just having taken the time to look over the practice test is very helpful.

Bonne Chance!!
